Arizona Musicfest Needs You!

“I made some of my best friends at Arizona Musicfest!”

Just as our wonderful Festival Orchestra needs the talent of individual musicians to make beautiful music, Arizona Musicfest relies on the individual talents and time of our volunteers to keep the organization well tuned!

Volunteers have a chance to work at once-in-a-lifetime concerts and heartwarming events. Participating in the music education program, Musicfest Minutes, is another unique way to make a major impact on the community with Valley-wide potential.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Usher at concerts & special events
  • Assist office staff with ticket sales & clerical tasks
  • Staff the “Will Call” desk at concerts
  • Join the Education Committee’s Musicfest Minutes in 4 school districts
  • Mentor with the Young Artists Concert & Young Musicians Competition
  • Help with The Young Performers Recital Series at Steinway Hall

The Volunteer Committee meets every month, October through April, at 9:00am in the Community Room at the Harris Trust Bank. It is a good time to meet your fellow volunteers and learn “What’s New” in Arizona Musicfest and what needs to be done. Your interest and talents are appreciated, and we hope you will call the Arizona Musicfest office at 480.488.0806 or toll free at 866.488.0806 to join our volunteer forces. The dates for this season’s meetings are: October 19, November 2, December 7, January 11, February 1, March 7 and April 4.

The Harris Trust Bank is located at 34525 North Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale 85266. There is ample parking for volunteers a few steps beyond the Bank’s reserved parking.

Robert Moody with Susanne and Dieter LoeperVolunteer of the Year
The 2011 Volunteer Recognition Event was attended by 190 dedicated volunteers, orchestra musicians and housing hosts. It was a night of wonderful food and fun, celebrating the committed volunteers who help Arizona Musicfest fulfill its concert, education and youth performance mission.

During the festivities, the Volunteer of the Year Award was presented to Susanne Loeper, who works tirelessly for Arizona Musicfest, not just in 2010, but EVERY year!

Last year alone she hosted a fundraiser; donated auction items including a dinner with a famous celebrity; hosted a musician; served on several committees; delivered brochures to churches, restaurants and other area businesses; represented Arizona Musicfest at civic events; brought in a new sponsor and volunteer; and ushered at concerts. She even delivered delicious homemade goodies to the office staff!

Although this award was a big surprise to Susanne, it was no surprise to those of us who witness her devoted and enthusiastic efforts on our behalf! Thank you, Susanne, for 2010 and ALL your years of enthusiastic service!

Susanne is just one of our 250 wonderful volunteers who make this organization great. Sincere thanks to every volunteer for everything you do!
