Misha & Cipa Dichter

Misha & Cipa DichterPianists Misha and Cipa Dichter began playing together in the ‘60s while attending The Juilliard School, where they studied with the legendary Rosina Lhevinne. Their first joint appearance, four years after their marriage, was at the Hollywood Bowl.

Since then, the Dichters have been eagerly welcomed in recital and with major orchestras throughout the world, their performances hailed for “stylistic elegance, technical ease, and interpretative unanimity.”

Today, you will hear this virtuosic duo play the melodious Concertino, Opus 94 by Shostakovich, Liszt’s fiery Concerto Pathetique and, a real tour de force, Copland’s El Salon Mexico, as arranged by Leonard Bernstein.

As a special treat, Misha will also perform as soloist, playing miniature gems by Beethoven, his Six Bagatelles (Op. 126) and Schubert’s profound and passionate Sonata in A Minor (Op. 143).
