We...

are a community-based organization, conceived 19 years ago to bring great music to our neighborhoods. We are citizen-volunteers who cherish our way of life here in Arizona and are driven to enhance it.

We hold firm to our core of quality Classical music, and are proud of our multi-faceted Festival and Musicale traditions of Broadway, Jazz, and myriad other expressions of musical excellence.

We believe we are improving our community by bringing “Carnegie Hall quality into our own backyards” during our annual winter festival in February and March. Not simply by hiring great “acts” from around the world to perform locally for us, but by building and nourishing our own Festival Orchestra – made up of dedicated men and women selected from our nation’s finest symphonies; each member a true virtuoso of his or her instrument. Thanks to their work, guided by our gifted artistic director, Robert Moody, and the efforts of talented guest artists, Arizona Musicfest is well on its way to becoming a major destination as America’s Premier Winter Music Festival.

We work to encourage music appreciation in our children by supporting classical music-listening and instrumental music instruction in our schools. We also offer concerts by the Phoenix Youth Symphony, rehearsals of our own Festival Orchestra and other examples of musical inspiration. Before these events, we provide our citizen-volunteers to docent this young and eager audience.

We are passionate about extending performance opportunities to the accomplished young musicians of Arizona. We take very seriously our commitment to these stars of tomorrow. And so we present our annual Young Artists Concert and Young Musicians Competition. In the future, we intend to launch a significant scholarship program for these talented youth.

We also collaborate with other fine arts organizations to provide appreciative audiences for these accomplished musicians. Our partners in these endeavors include the Phoenix Art Museum, the Barnabas Society of St. Barnabas in the Desert Episcopal Church and the Scottsdale Artists’ School.

We especially care about our volunteers. We listen to them at our monthly volunteer meetings. And encourage them to add their own individual sparkle to the Arizona Musicfest ideal.

We care about our venues; always improving our partnership with them.

Most importantly, we care about our audiences. Their needs are our commands. We do what we do at Arizona Musicfest because, most definitely, we believe our community is better each day for the services we provide.

We are completely non-profit. Quite simply, we do this for the betterment of our neighbors.

Music is a magical part of living. We, the people of Arizona Musicfest, are honored to celebrate that magic.
