Arizona Musicfest 2012, America’s Premier Winter Music Festival (February 3 - March 2), presents top artists of Classical, Broadway, Jazz and Pop in venues throughout Scottsdale and Carefree.
Guest artist highlights include Imani Winds, chamber music with a hip, sophisticated twist; Dan Levinson’s Palomar Quartet – plus The Anderson Twins – in a three clarinet salute to Benny Goodman; piano soloist Andrew von Oeyen in recital; journeys in jazz with the Tamir Hendelman Trio; chanteuse Barbara Rosene serving up Love Songs by Candlelight; Broadway’s Best, From A to Z – Abba to Les Miz; and a salute to the pop hits of the 1970’s.
Chris Brubeck is our Artist-in-Residence this year, appearing as a classical composer, performing as a member of the Brubeck Brothers Quartet, and sharing the spotlight in Bob Moody’s Cabaret.
At the heart of Arizona Musicfest 2012 is the Festival Orchestra conducted by Robert Moody. Over sixty musicians hand-chosen by Maestro Moody from the nation’s finest orchestras and performing in four exceptional concerts: Classical Passion, Maestro’s Mix, Brubeck Brothers Quartet with the Festival Orchestra, and The Verdi Requiem with the Arizona Musicfest Chorus and guest soloists soprano Barbara Quintiliani, mezzo-soprano Beth Clayton, tenor Gaston Rivero, and bass-baritone Wayne Tigges.
“Live performances, where we all journey together, are profound, thrilling and rejuvenating,” says Maestro Moody. “We musicians feel it as we perform and you sense it in the concert hall. Nothing is more powerful.”
Ticket prices range from $35 to $90. Student tickets are $5 for selected guest artists and FREE for Festival Orchestra concerts. Special Jazz Pack and Festival Orchestra ticket packages are available. Complimentary valet parking is available at most locations.
